Le professeur Wong étudie la topologie à l'aide d'outils géométriques et algébriques. Son travail explore les liens entre la topologie en basses dimensions, la géométrie de contact, la théorie de Floer et la catégorification. Il s'est joint à l'Université d'Ottawa en 2023 après avoir occupé des postes postdoctoraux à la Louisiana State University et au Dartmouth College. Il a complété son doctorat à la Columbia University en 2017.
