May 10, 2023 — All day
Join us for this education book talk, an initiative supported by the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the office of the Vice-Dean Governance and Student Affairs (VDGOUV) and the office of Vice-Dean Research (VDRE), to discuss Professor Stephanie Chitpin's new memoir "Keep My Memory Safe: Fook Soo Am, The Pagoda."
Description
A memoir can be an incredibly valuable tool for education in a number of ways. For example, they can help to develop empathy for people with different backgrounds or experiences. Likewise, memoirs can inspire students to reflect on their experiences and find their own voice. Professor Chitpin’s extraordinary account of her story with education offers an invaluable opportunity to see the value of learning and teaching beyond school walls.
