Professional Development Program

A free face-to-face assessment service for additional basic qualifications for those wishing to work as a teacher. Available only to students in the Faculty of Education. 

Target clientele: All French-speaking and English-speaking students in the Teacher Education and Formation à l'enseignement programs, with particular emphasis on 2nd year students.

Teacher Education and French as a second language (FSL) 

Our programs prepare individuals with a recognized undergraduate university degree and a desire to share their passion to teach in English-language schools in Ontario. There is a great need for French as a second language (FSL) teachers in Ontario and across Canada. The presentation is approximately 25 minutes follow by a period of questions.

  • Every Wednesday, September 4 to December 11, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. via Zoom 

Note: In order for your application to be evaluated in the first round of admission, all requirements need to be met by December 1. After this date, admission continues until the programs close.

Whether you are coursework or research oriented, or prefer to study part time, full time or online, our programs are offered in a variety of formats that meet your aspirations. If you are interested in research programs, find a supervisor and apply early, as these programs fill up quickly and close early in the fall. The admission process and deadlines varies per programs per languages.
