John M. Richardson, Ph.D., is Head of English at Ashbury College and Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Education. He has degrees in English, theatre and education from Princeton University, the University er. His articles have been published in The McGill Journal of Education; Participations; Learning, Media and Technology; English Journal; Language and Literacy; and In Education; as well as Critof Toronto, Dalhousie University, the University of Ottawa, and the University of Calgary. He has spoken at conferences across Canada and, most recently, in the UK, at “Building Interdisciplinary Bridges Across Cultures and Creativities” (BIBAC) at Cambridge University, and at Salford University’s Media Festival in Manchestical Youth Studies: A Qualitative Studies Reader, co-edited by Dr. Awad Ibrahim, and Drama and Theatre Education: Canadian Perspectives. He has appeared as a youth culture commentator on CBC radio’s flagship arts show, “Q”, and in The National Post. His research interests include digital culture, live theatre, critical pedagogies, educational technology, literacies, media education, and identity formation.
