MakerLaunch
MakerLaunch is the Faculty of Engineering’s startup accelerator program for engineering and computer science students, and recent University of Ottawa alumni. The program propels startups to success by surrounding them with the team, facilities and tools needed to launch and scale their technology ventures.
About MakerLaunch
MakerLaunch provides University of Ottawa students and recent alumni entrepreneurs with the necessary support to fast-track the commercialization of technologies and launch new tech startups.
The MakerLaunch program leverages the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the Faculty of Engineering, including:
- access to resources and cutting-edge spaces at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design
- design and prototyping support
- the uOttawa alumni tech leader community
- other regional entrepreneurial ecosystems
- technologies developed at the Faculty of Engineering
What the program offers
Teams have access to business support. A designated mentor and special advisers are assigned to each participant or team to help them launch and scale their business.
This is a nine-month program giving participants a dedicated timeframe to develop and grow their business ventures.
Access up to $50,000 in non-dilutive funding through a MakerLaunch Startup Grant.
The STEM Complex is home to the Faculty of Engineering’s collaborative spaces and offers access to meeting rooms to help teams work on their businesses.
Join a network MakerLaunch program alumni, while also tapping into the over 210,000 uOttawa alumni in over 155 countries.
Gain access to resources and prototyping spaces offered by the Faculty’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design, where teams can design, build and test their prototypes.
