Students graduating from the Faculty of Engineering share stories of their top accomplishments, favourite memories and plans for after Convocation.

Our students inspire us. Their unique backgrounds, contributions and perspectives promise a lasting, positive impact and an equitable, sustainable and inclusive future.

The U7+ Alliance of Universities created the U7+ Student Challenge in 2022 to allow students to collaborate, research, and propose solutions to a local challenge linked to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This year, the finalists presented their projects at an event hosted by uOttawa’s Faculty of Engineering.

The Maker Jam Challenge is an event combining student innovation and creativity. Nearly 100 students attended this year’s edition on the University of Ottawa campus. The participants, divided into 29 teams, took part in the Game Jam and MakerCon competitions. The atmosphere was intense as the participants displayed their inventiveness.

The Entrepreneurial Concepts Competition is one of many entrepreneurial competitions organized by the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design at the Faculty of Engineering. It gives students with entrepreneurial ideas the opportunity to develop business plans and get them off the ground.

The joint uOttawa / Université du Québec en Outaouais delegation took first place at the 2023 Jeux de Génie engineering competition at Université Laval. Faculty of Engineering student Elise Cloutier discusses her experience.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) at uOttawa collaborated to showcase and celebrate Black Engineering Excellence at a gala event last month.
