Start with four compulsory core courses

To receive the Master of Engineering Management, you first complete four core courses (12 units). These courses will give you the skills most in demand in engineering management. In less than a year, you’ll increase your ability to:

  • Recognize complexity: Engineering is conducted within complex, changing organizations in a complex, changing social and global environment. Learn to recognize these factors and understand how they affect projects.
  • Manage people: People are complicated, with unique qualities and motivations. Broaden and deepen your people management and leadership skills.
  • Manage money: Cash flow is the fuel that propels projects and organizations. Learn the language of accounting and finance and the financial principles that let you make informed decisions about resource allocation and project budgeting.

To ensure a smooth journey through the program, you should complete these courses first. You can then choose your electives based on your goals and course availability.

Finish with six elective courses

We offer 18 elective courses across six concentration areas. To complete a concentration, you should take all the available electives from that concentration area by the end of your program.  You can complete up to two full concentrations.  You can also choose to mix and match your courses from among different concentration areas.  In total, you must take six elective courses to fulfil your program requirements.
