Through different activities, such as chemistry experiments, robotics, physics challenges, 3D modeling and programming, camp participants will have a chance to learn and discover many aspects of science and engineering.

Our camps

STEM and Sports Camp

Offered at uOttawa only.
We had so much fun in our STEM-Sports camps last summer, we have expanded to all 8 weeks in 2025! uOttawa Engineering Outreach Summer Camps and Gee-Gees Camps partner up to offer STEM & Sports camps. Participants in these one-of-a-kind camps will spend 50% of their day doing STEM activities and the other 50% playing sports. It’s a great opportunity for kids to discover and learn through engineering, technology and science projects while staying active and playing different sports.

EngSci

Offered at various locations.
The EngSci summer camp will be offered to kids from kindergarten to Grade 6. Campers will be separated into three different groups (Minerals, Crystals or Diamond) according to their ages. The EngSci camp will offer a mix of technology, engineering, and science activities. Older EngSci participants doing the camp on campus will have access to the University’s science laboratories (biology and chemistry).

  • EngSci Minerals: Designed for kids in kindergarten to 1st grade! Campers will focus on the fundamentals of science, technology, and engineering through fun, hands-on activities. They’ll explore basic concepts in a playful environment, working in groups with friends to spark curiosity and creativity!
  • EngSci Crystals: The Crystals group is designed for kids in grades 2 to 4! This program focuses on applying foundational knowledge of STEM concepts in real-world scenarios. Campers will participate in more structured activities that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They will work in teams to complete engineering challenges, conduct experiments in the University’s science laboratories, and engage in projects that link science concepts to everyday life.
  • EngSci Diamonds: The Diamonds group is designed for kids in grades 5 and 6! The focus of this camp is on honing their minds and skills to embrace the mindset of future engineers and scientists. Campers will engage in in-depth studies of robotics, environmental science, and advanced chemistry, sharpening their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through engaging activities, campers will discover the excitement of scientific inquiry and engineering design, setting the stage for their academic journey ahead.

STEMspired Girls

Offered at uOttawa only.
The STEMspired Girls is a camp designed to address the under-representation of women in STEM fields. Campers will be separated into two different groups (Rubies and Sapphires) according to their ages. The STEMspired Girls camp will offer a mix of technology, engineering, and science activities. Participants will have access to the University’s science laboratories (biology and chemistry). The goal of this camp is to provide a favourable environment for girls and self-identifying girls in grades 2 to 7 to discover the wonders and merits of science and engineering.

  • STEMspired Girls Ruby: The Ruby is a group designed exclusively for girls in grades 2 to 4, similar to the EngSci Crystals! This camp encourages young girls and non-binary youth in learning the foundational knowledge in STEM through fun, hands-on activities. They will hone their critical thinking skills and problemsolving skills, by being inspired by the technologies and science developped by various women in STEM, both past and present. Not only will they work in teams to conduct exciting scientific experiments , they will also explore exciting coding, design and engineering activities that will stimulate their interest!
  • STEMspired Girls Sapphire: The Sapphire is a dynamic program designed exclusively for girls in grades 5 to 7, similar to the EngSci Diamonds! This camp encourages young women and non-binary youth to explore their interest in STEM while building confidence and teamwork skills. Participants will learn about the remarkable contributions of women throughout history who have had a hand in shaping fields in STEM! Participants will explore different technologies through hands on activities, like Micro:Bits, coding and robotics, while also performing exciting biological and chemical experiments in our campus labs!

MiniMed

Offered at uOttawa only.
During the MiniMed camp, participants from grades 4 to 6 will have an opportunity to discover the fascinating world of medicine. Campers will explore different aspects of this wonderful profession through various clinical skills and will be introduced to certain medical aspects by conducting chemistry experiments, using microscopes, and modelling in 3D.

EngTech

Offered at various locations.
The EngTech camp is designed for children in grades 4 through 7. Participants will learn more about coding and robotics, and will perform 3D modelling, coding, and micro:bit activities, among others.

Schedule: Summer 2025

Registration for our summer camps is not open yet! Register to our newsletter to get the latest news about our programs for kids.

Numbers 1 through 4 are used to distinguish between camp weeks. For example, there are four different weeks of EngSci. The format and schedule are the same each week, but the projects differ from week to week. Therefore, a camper could participate in four consecutive weeks of EngSci without repeating the same projects.

Please note we are closed on July 1, 2025 (Canada Day statutory holiday) and August 4, 2025 (Ontario civic holiday).
