To register and see the important competition dates and deadlines, go to the Engineering Research Celebration Day page. You must first register for the competition as a participant. All registered participants will receive an email with a link where you can submit a digital copy of your poster and abstract.
Poster and abstract: Submission guidelines
Here are the guidelines for your poster and abstract for the Engineering and Computer Science graduate poster competition.
Register for the competition
Submit your research abstract
- Your abstract must be a one-page document saved as PDF file, not exceeding 15 MB in size.
- Name your file as follows: Lastname_Firstname-abstract.pdf
- Your abstract must describe the research project, including its title, motivation, methodology, results and conclusions. Include your name and your supervisor(s) name(s).
- You can include diagrams and figures, but they aren’t required.
Submit your research poster
- Your poster dimensions should be maximum of 41" x 41" or 105 cm x 105 cm.
- Name your file as follows: Lastname_Firstname-Poster.pdf
- Your poster can be in French or English.

Print your poster
- You’re responsible for printing your poster and bringing the printed copy on the day of the competition.
- You can print your poster on campus through, use the DocUcentre. You can also opt to use off-campus printing services such as MerriamPrint or Staples. Pricing for these services usually ranges from $60 to $100.
- All posters will be presented in the SITE building. A space will be allocated to you and pins will be provided.
- You will receive an email with detailed information on the day’s programming ahead of the event.
