Dr. Bouendeu is a professional engineer with an entrepreneurial mind-set, and professor and engineer in residence at the School of Engineering Design & Teaching Innovation (SEDTI) in the faculty of engineering at the University of Ottawa. He obtained a Ph.D. in the area of Micro-Energy Harvesting Engineering from the University of Freiburg in Germany.
Prior joining the University of Ottawa, Dr. Bouendeu was renewable energy project manager at Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op (OREC), co-founder of Environs Energy International and Bouendeu CleanTech Inc., test engineer at Moeller Holding GmbH in Germany, part-time professor at Cité Collegiale in Ottawa, and lecturer and research scientist at the University of Freiburg in Germany. Dr. Bouendeu is expert in micro-energy technologies, thick film electroluminescent structures, solid-state lighting and renewable energies.
His research and interest fields include photovoltaics engineering, micro-energy harvesting, thick-film electroluminescent structures, LED lighting, clean energy storage systems, energy management, energy efficiency, knowledge dissemination and education. Dr. Bouendeu is senior member of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and EU-Engineers, member of Professional Engineer Ontario (PEO) and Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA).
