Since 2001, Nicolas Gagnon is a Research Engineer at the Communications Research Centre Canada, Ottawa, Canada. He received his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002 and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2011, both from the University of Ottawa. In addition, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, also from the University of Ottawa.
He has published more than 10 journal papers and over 20 conference papers. He is the main inventor of a patent on phase shifting surfaces. He is also a reviewer for various journals of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Over the years, Nicolas was awarded a Best Student Paper Prize (Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference, 2009), a Young Scientist Best Paper Award (Joint International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications and IEEE-APS Topical Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Wireless Communications, 2011) and an Excellence in Technology Transfer Award (Canadian Federal Partners in Technology Transfer, 2009).
He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, as well as a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
