Biography

Arya Rahgozar is an adjunct professor of data science at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a scientist at Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He received his PhD in digital transformation and innovation from the University of Ottawa, specializing in natural language processing (NLP), in multilingual semantic text classification, clustering and ontology learning, specifically.  

Rahgozar received his master’s from the University of Waterloo in management sciences, specializing in graph process modelling with temporal event predictions. He has over 20 years of decision science and analytics industrial experience, with partnerships in banking, credit risk, marketing, health care and supply chains as an advanced analytics team leader and principal data scientist.  

Rahgozar was a Mitacs PI and a startup partner in developing chatbot recommender system. He is a prime AI co-investigator in variety of e-health projects, including NLP application at the Brain-Heart-Interconnectome. His research examines the application of NLP in medicine and health care.
