Engineering Students’ Society

The ESS represents uOttawa Engineering students; this is your association. Get involved in your student community. You’ll come to know your colleagues better by participating in the various activities and events put on by and for students.

Civil Engineering Students' Association (CESA)

This society is created for and by civil engineering undergraduate students focusing on social and academic development. Whether you've been here since CSCE or just joining in now, all civil engineering students are more than welcome to take part in our events to improve their technical, social and academic skills. The uOttawa nanoBrew team is a club that aims to introduce students to the science involved in brewing. They are working with the faculty to raise funds to build a microbrewery on campus.

uOttawa Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineers (CSME)

Our chapter builds a bridge with uOttawa engineering student talents, academia, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs to pave the way for employment opportunities and the outside world. We achieve this via events, conferences, and capstone competitions.

uOttawa IEEE Women in Engineering

The mission of uOttawa IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is to inspire, engage, encourage and empower women to pursue their academic interests leading to a career in engineering. The WIE team works hard to organize receptions and networking events every year to recognize women in engineering.

Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)

Women in Science and Engineering is a group of motivated and passionate individuals creating a network for students to pursue science and engineering related programs and careers. We aim to connect students to faculty members and professionals so that we can promote, support and encourage further interest in the STEM fields.

National Society of Black Engineers - uOttawa Chapter (NSBE uOttawa)

NSBE uOttawa was created in 2021 to provide an environment, opportunities and a community where students can succeed, feel safe and explore who they are as a black person in STEM at uOttawa. Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

Jeux de génie

For 29 years, Jeux de Génie has been bringing together over 500 engineering students from 12 Quebec universities and 1 Ontarian university!

This is the largest undergraduate engineering competition in Canada where students have the chance to stand out in academic, sports, social and cultural competitions. Your body and mind will be put to the test, but without a doubt, these will be four days you will not forget.
