Lei Cao, Assistant Professor
Professor Lei Cao's research explores how environmental factors such as stress influence developmental trajectories, aiming to uncover the underlying mechanisms contributing to health and wellness through genome and epigenome exploration. Her work is especially focused on the profound effects of stress experienced after natural disasters, examining its impact on vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, children, and adolescents. Through comprehending the pathways shaping resilience in adversity, Professor Cao's research strives to enhance mental health outcome for individuals experiencing significant stressors or trauma and seeks to inform targeted interventions that can better support at-risk populations.

Mujda Nooristani, Assistant Professor
As an assistant professor in audiology at the University of Ottawa, Professor Mujda Nooristani investigates the vestibular system and its functions, as well as audio-vestibular interactions. Her research interests focus on the effects of aging on the vestibular and auditory systems, as well as on postural control. Through her research, she aims to reduce the risk of falls in the elderly by optimizing vestibular and auditory function. She also works in private practice with people suffering from vestibular disorders, which inspires her research into innovative interventions for these patients.
