The School of Human Kinetics offers five undergraduate programs and one minor that provide multidisciplinary approaches to understanding sport, physical activity, and leisure.

Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics (BScHK)

Emphasizes the biophysical sciences of human kinetics, with a focus on the role that biological, anatomical, musculoskeletal, and neuro-motor systems have on motor performance, and the impact of sport and physical activity on the body.

Two programs offered:
  • Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics: Broad range of topics in human movement, anatomy, physiology, exercise science, and fitness assessment

  • Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics - Applied studies in Kinesiology: Specifically designed to meet the competencies required by the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.

Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics (BHK)

Emphasizes the social sciences aspects of physical activity, sport, active leisure and health. It provides the knowledge and skills required to play a leading role in developing, promoting and implementing programs, policies and positive lifestyle behaviours for different populations in a variety of settings.

Three programs offered:
  • Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics: Focuses on leveraging the social sciences to enhance physical activity, sport, and health, equipping students to lead in the creation and promotion of health-positive programs and policies.
  • Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics - Recreation and Sport Management: Prepares students with the knowledge and practical experience needed for careers in sport, leisure, and physical activity organizations and management.
  • Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics - Education and Coaching: Offers students the expertise and application opportunities in physical activity, education, and coaching to positively impact lives.

Minor in Studies of Social Issues in Sport, Physical Activity and Leisure

The Minor in Studies of Social Issues in Sport, Physical Activity and Leisure offers an opportunity to improve your knowledge and skills in critical analysis of sport, physical activity and leisure to help you become an actor of social change in, and through, sport, physical activity and leisure. You will learn about the effect of social issues on sporting, physical and leisure practices as well as the impact of these practices on social change. In the process, you better understand how power relations are enacted in the context of sport, physical activity and leisure as well as understand how these practices become tools of social change.
