On November 20, 2024, fourth-year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing program participated in a simulation of an emergency situation.

These future nurses were first briefed on a fictional scenario describing a multi-casualty accident. The University’s Protection Services called upon them to take charge of eight individuals. The students were split into different groups to conduct triage, provide immediate assistance and administer first aid before the casualties were transported to hospital. The specifics of the accident and the limited resources available led the students to quickly assess the situation and agree on the steps to follow to effectively provide assistance.

This exercise, which was held in the new Faculty of Health Sciences building, was the first of its kind in this location since the new building’s inauguration in 2023. The classrooms and labs are equipped with the latest technology, allowing students to apply classroom theory to real-life situations and prompting researchers to innovate and conduct research that is key to improving health care and quality of life for people around the world.
