The School of Nursing prepares the next generation of nurses to offer quality care, to assume leadership roles within the healthcare system, and to contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

The School makes a distinctive contribution to nursing through excellence in education, research, and community engagement to promote individual and collective health and wellbeing.

The undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program is offered in both official languages at the University of Ottawa campus and students can choose to study in their preferred language. The BScN program is also offered in English in collaboration with Ottawa-area Algonquin College, at two locations: the Ottawa campus and the Pembroke campus. A BScN degree leads to career opportunities in public health, community agencies, acute care hospitals, rehabilitation centres, long-term care facilities, private industry, and more.

Registered nurses can choose to continue their education with a master’s program (MScN) or a combined masters and primary healthcare nurse practitioner diploma. The University of Ottawa also offers a doctoral program in nursing (PhD) to Canadian and International students. All graduate programs are offered in both official languages and students can study in their preferred language.
