Professor Patrick O'Byrne of the School of Nursing began work in 2019 on a plan to mail HIV self-testing kits to people who might have difficulty getting to a clinic for testing.

With the arrival of the pandemic, this need became urgent. The GetaKit.ca program was launched and rolled out across Ontario.

With the success of the program, Professor O'Byrne was contacted by Health Canada earlier this year to ask if the program could be adapted for COVID-19 testing as a pilot program. The GetaKit.ca/COVID program is now launched and has 8,000 tests to distribute. For complete  details, read the full article.

Congratulations to Professor O'Byrne on this outstanding achievement!
