Biography

Katrine Sauvé-Schenk is a registered Occupational Therapist since 2003. In this role, she has had the opportunity to gain experience working with clients in both the public and private practice settings, in acute care, rehabilitation and community services. Katrine obtained her master’s in public health from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany) in 2009, her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Ottawa in 2018 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in organization of health services with the Institut du Savoir Montfort and the Telfer School of Management in 2019. She is currently assistant professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences.

Through her research, Katrine aims to understand the influence of social determinants of health on rehabilitation, and to find solutions that will reduce the resulting health inequities. Her research currently focuses on the influence of income, housing and linguistic minority status.
