Join us to celebrate World Children's Day 2024
The Declaration of Geneva on the Rights of the Child is 100 years old (Declaration of Geneva, 1924). We have come a long way in making children the subjects of rights. Children's rights are constantly evolving to reflect the realities of today's world and the effects of these changes are not always predictable. Certain observations can also be made about the lack of effectiveness of these rights in specific areas. Moreover, some categories of children are still overlooked and do not receive legal protection of their most fundamental rights. The gap that still often exists between the formal legal framework and its practical implementation calls the system into question.
Join us for a presentation by Professor & IRLRC Founding Director Mona Paré followed by the signature of the Geneva Declaration for Children’s Rights (2024), an initiative spearheaded by Professeur Philip Jaffé, Pilot at the Observatory and Member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
