Important dates

Jan. 4 to Jan. 22, 2024: January session
Jan. 4 to Jan. 19, 2024: Courses for the January session
Jan. 8, 2024: Last day to enrol and to change course selection for the January session  
Jan. 8, 2024: Last day to submit a request to register for a Directed Research Project for the January session
Jan. 10, 2024: Last day to submit a registration form for the Major Paper Requirement (PDF, 323.91 KB) for the January session (see Rule 10 of the Common Law Section's academic regulations for information on this requirement)
Jan. 11, 2024: Last day to withdraw from a course or activity and receive a financial credit (less administrative fees)
Jan. 13 to Jan. 19, 2024: Teaching and course evaluations for the January session

Jan. 15: Internal deadline to apply to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Fellowship Programme. 
Jan. 16, 2024: First year mid-term grades will be posted online (by 4:00 pm)
Jan. 16, 2024: Fall term final grades will be approved by the Faculty Council and posted online (by 4:00 pm)
Jan. 17, 2024: Last day to indicate courses to be evaluated with “Satisfactory/Not satisfactory” grades 
Jan. 17, 2024: Last day to withdraw from a course or activity (no financial credit)
Jan. 18, 2024: Deadline to apply to the Ottawa 2L structured recruitment process for a Summer 2024 position
Jan. 20 to Jan. 21, 2024: Study break
Jan 22, 2024: Exam day for the January session
Jan 22, 2024: All papers, including Directed Research Projects, are due by 4:00 p.m. 
Jan. 23 to Jan. 28, 2024: January term break (Note that exceptions may apply: please see the section “Advance Make-Up Classes for First Year Students in English JD Programs” below)
Jan. 25 to Jan. 26, 2024: Advance make-up classes in replacement of cancelled classes during the Call to Action Modules (Feb. 8 & 9)

January 2024 (various): Deadlines to apply for a 2025-2026 clerkship with various courts
Feb. 2, 2024: Last day to pay tuition fees without late fees. Consult the fee payment section of the Financial Resources website
