uOttawa Family Law Negotiation Competition: Tryouts for the Walsh Negotiation Competitive Team
Upper year English and French common law students are invited to participate in uOttawa’s Family Law Negotiation Competition - the tryouts for the Walsh Negotiation Competitive Team.

Winners of the tryouts comprise the competitive team that trains under Professor Rockman in the winter term (a three-credit, graded course) and represents our school at the province-wide Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition in Toronto on March 8^th.

The uOttawa Negotiation Competition will be held on Saturday, October 26^th.

Students compete in pairs. You may propose your own partner, and every effort will be made to accommodate you. If you do not propose a partner, you will be assigned one.

Winners are selected individually.

On October 9, Danica Steadman, Manager of Associate & Student Programs will host a presentation for students to gain insights on the legal landscape in Ottawa. In the evening, following the presentation there will be an opportunity to connect with lawyers from Gowling WLG that will be held at their Ottawa office (160 Elgin, Suite 2600). Upper year students are eligible to apply for the 2026-2027 term. Did you miss the CPDC’s clerkship panels? The deadline to apply to the internal application process for the Supreme Court of Canada and the Court of Appeal for Ontario is October 18 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

If the UO-Academic Integrity Training (ITD 1100-A00 or ITD 1500-A00) appears in your course schedule in uoZone for the Fall 2024 term, please complete the module through Brightspace as soon as possible and no later than November 1st 2024. The module takes approximately two hours to complete. If you have any questions about the module, please consult the FAQ on academic integrity.

It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that the courses selected do not result in class schedule or exam schedule conflicts.

The use of the Examplify software will be possible in selected courses. Please verify the exam timetables to know if your final exam will offer this option.

Microsoft and Apple have announced the upcoming release of new operating systems. ExamSoft is currently testing Examplify’s compatibility with these new operating systems. Exam-takers should not update their devices to the new Windows and Mac operating systems until Examplify’s compatibility with the new versions is announced.
