The Admissions Office is seeking 2nd and 3rd year Student Ambassadors to participate in the annual Call Campaign for prospective students who have been offered admission to the English Common Law program at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. We are looking for current law students who are willing to share their enthusiasm for our JD program with our top applicants to encourage them to come to the University of Ottawa.

You must be available to attend a 1-hour training on the week of February 3rd (time to be confirmed with successful candidates). The Call Campaign will run between February 11 to February 20. Candidates must be available for a minimum of three of the following shifts:

• Tuesday, February 11, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 12, 6:00-8:00p.m.
• Thursday, February 13, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, February 18, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 19, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
• Thursday, February 20, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

This is a remote position. A stable internet connection and a quiet workspace will be essential for this role. You will be provided with an internet-based phone line to make outgoing calls.

• Number of hours: minimum 7 hours, maximum 20 hours.
• Number of positions: To be determined.
• Salary information: $17 hourly

This course examines the legal instruments and principles that underpin and shape human rights law in Canada. We’ll explore international legal instruments and how they have been incorporated and adopted in Canadian law, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the evolution of the human rights landscape at the federal level, and, finally, the scope and administration of human rights in the province of Ontario.

The Korsa Therapeutic Program helps University of Ottawa students navigate various situations that may impact their academic progress, such as stress, anxiety, burnout, and more. The program consists of a series of five sessions, each lasting two hours, and includes a variety of exercises, metaphors, and discussions in pairs, small groups, and large groups. It’s an opportunity to pause amidst the fast pace of life and take care of oneself, both now and for the future.
