Internship and specialization.

Internships

Dispute Resolution and Professionalism (DRP) Internship course provides students with the opportunity to learn and gain experience in a DRP-dedicated environment. Through the internship placement, students will gain exposure to and an insight into the daily practice of DRP professionals. The work will be completed under the direction of a Supervising Lawyer and may include research projects, day-to-day contributions, or, in case of a dispute resolution placement, shadowing the Supervising Lawyer in various dispute resolution processes. Students must complete 125h hours during a term.

This course is by application only.

Specialization

The option in Dispute Resolution and Professionalism is intended for students wishing to obtain in-depth and practical experience in dispute resolution processes and professionalism, including professional ethics and written and oral advocacy.  Our program offers a particularly rich array of courses in this area.  In addition, by completing the course requirements and the Practicum Internship, most students taking this option will complete the education requirement to qualify as a mediator for the Ontario Mandatory Mediation Program.

Should you have any questions about the option please contact the co-ordinator, Professor Marina Pavlović at [email protected].
