Emily Alderson is legal counsel with the federal Department of Justice where she practices maritime law for the Canadian Coast Guard. She previously clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal and was a legal assistant at the 67th session of the International Law Commission. She was also a consultant on the Canadian Bar Association’s Legal Futures Project, advising on issues facing new and aspiring lawyers.
Her primary academic interests are public international law, maritime law & law of the sea, and legal writing.
