Michael Sims

Biography

Michael J. Sims is a litigator with the City of Toronto, where his practice focuses on complex civil and administrative proceedings involving the City. Prior to joining the City, he was counsel with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and spent seven years as a litigator for the Department of Justice, where he represented the federal Crown in policing, corrections and national security matters. He began his career in private practice at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto, with a focus on corporate commercial litigation.

Mr. Sims earned a B.A. in history (Queen’s), an M.Phil. in international relations (Cantab.) and an LL.B. and B.C.L. (McGill). He was called to the Ontario bar in 2006.
