Appointment of Michael Marin, LLB '08, as UNB’s Acting Dean of Law

Michael Marin
Michael Marin has been appointed Acting Dean of Law at the University of New Brunswick.

Michael graduated from our LLB program in 2008. He was an Assistant Professor in both the English and French Common Law Programs from 2012 to 2016  and was the Academic Director of the uOttawa Business Law Clinic.

He joined UNB’s Faculty of Law as an Assistant Professor in 2016. He was promoted to Associate Professor and appointed Associate Dean in 2018. He also holds MA in public policy from Carleton University and an LLM from the University of Cambridge. His areas of teaching and research include administrative law, corporate governance, and torts.

Michael will succeed John Kleefeld, who has served as Dean since 2017, and who will continue as a faculty member at UNB Law.

He is a part-time vice-chairperson of the New Brunswick Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal (WCAT).  He is a member of the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute’s Atlantic Regional Committee, as well as several law societies and bar associations. His one-year term begins on July 1, 2020.
