The Common Law Section is pleased to announce that Marie-Claude Langlois is the winner of the Award for Distinguished Service by a Staff Member for 2024.

As the Manager of Finance for the Common Law Section, Marie-Claude’s expertise and her ability to thrive under pressure have helped the law school successfully integrate Workday into its financial processes. Her nomination was supported by numerous faculty members who praised her proactive and responsive approach to grant management, noting her collaborative and supportive attitude, her impressive patience and her unflappable work ethic. Her ability to tackle the most complex challenges has helped to ensure that research projects both big and small are able to move forward, and she has made an indelible mark on the overall success of the Common Law Section. 

“Her impact extends beyond problem-solving,” reads one nomination. “Whether it is helping with intricate project logistics, advising on financial procedures, or troubleshooting roadblocks for research centres and partnership projects, Marie-Claude ensures that we succeed. She is not just a staff member; she is a partner who invests in the success of everyone she supports.”

The Award for Distinguished Service by a Staff Member is awarded annually to a member of the staff of the Common Law Section who has earned distinction as a result of outstanding service to the Faculty or the University.
