Heather McLeod-Kilmurray joins task force focused on creating a sustainable post-pandemic society

For all the chaos and disruption caused by COVID-19, the pandemic has also provided the rare opportunity to think about how we can rebuild our communities and economies to create a more green and inclusive future. Professor Heather McLeod-Kilmurray has recently joined a multi-institutional task force dedicated to reducing inequality and advancing environmental stewardship in a post-pandemic society.

The Building Back Better: Post COVID-19 Task Force was established by the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) and is led by Alison Blay-Palmer, a professor at Wilfrid Laurier University and the UNESCO Chair on Food, Biodiversity and Sustainability Studies. The group is releasing a series of policy briefs, which are published on iPolitics.ca, that will provide specific policy considerations for municipal, provincial and federal governments on the topics of green infrastructure, regenerative food systems, and the restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity.
