Hannan Mohamud, JD candidate 2023, has been awarded one of the Top 30 Under 30 Awards by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC).
The award features 30 outstanding young people, nominated by their community and selected by a committee of peers, for their commendable work in making the world a more just, fair, and sustainable place for all.
The Edmonton native, and University of Alberta alumna, hosts Is This For Real?, a podcast about living as a Black person in Edmonton and is the Vice President Advocacy for the Black Law Students Association University of Ottawa Chapter. She was elected in March 2021, to serve on the University of Ottawa’s Board of Governors, the university’s highest decision-making body.

2021 is the 10th year anniversary of the Top 30 Under 30 awards. The Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC) is a network of organizations and individuals in Alberta working globally and locally to achieve sustainable development and global citizenship.
