Professor Anne Levesque named finalist for Franco-Ontarian Community Engagement Award

La Fondation franco-ontarienne has chosen Common Law’s Anne Levesque as a finalist for a Prix Saphir (PDF, 82.52 KB) in the Community Engagment category.  The Prix Saphir aim to recognize and promote the commitment, excellence and influence of women in the Franco-Ontarian community.

Professor Levesque gives countless volunteer hours to many causes. For example, as a lawyer for the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada, she has worked over 1,000 pro bono hours to promote the equality rights of First Nations children. She is also a founding member of the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program, a world-renowned initiative that now involves more than 1,500 lawyers.

Winners will be announced at the Soirée Saphir on March 6, 2021, in Toronto.
