Ranjan Agarwal, LLB ’03, receives recognition for his dedication to mentoring
Ranjan Agarwal, LLB ’03, is the recipient of the 2020 Eric Hoaken Excellence in Mentoring Award given by The Advocates’ Society. Ranjan is the first winner of this newly established award.

Ranjan is a partner at Bennett Jones LLP, in Toronto, where he focuses on complex commercial, class action and international arbitration. Called to the Bar of Ontario in 2004, he is on the board of the Ontario Bar Association and has previously volunteered on the South Asian Bar Association of North America. He has always strived to give back to the community.

In 2013, Ranjan generously created the Ranjan Agarwal and Sunita Bhowmik Prize to the graduating student with the highest cumulative grade point average over all four years in the JD/MA (International Affairs) program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section.

The Eric Hoaken Excellence in Mentoring Award honours advocates who have shown outstanding commitment to, and excellence in, mentoring other advocates. The purpose of the award is to promote excellence in mentoring.
