In an attempt to answer this question, researchers and partners will present research results looking at the application of workers’ compensation legislation and policies governing return to work after a work injury.
More specifically, these pilot studies looked at the experience of precariously employed workers in Ontario and Québec with workers’ compensation as well as the situation of injured workers who were engaged in various forms of employment related geographic mobility in a variety of Canadian provinces at the time of their injury.
Participants are invited to hear and provide feedback on the preliminary findings from these pilot projects, share knowledge and contribute to shaping the future research program. The results presented will be relevant for injured workers and those who represent them, unions, employers, as well as regulators and workers’ compensation policy makers in several Canadian jurisdictions.
