We are proud to report that the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law is among the 100 best law schools in the world! According to Times Higher Education’s 2020 World University Rankings, the Faculty places 92nd out of 190 universities worldwide and 5th out of all Canadian law schools. This is an excellent achievement!

In order to develop their university rankings, Times Higher Education ranks schools against 13 criteria, which look at teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The 2020 World University Rankings list was generated using data on more than 1800 research universities around the world. Times Higher Education also surveyed over 21 000 leading scholars on universities’ academic reputations and analyzed 77.4 million citations to over 12.8 million academic journal articles published between 2014 and 2018.

Times Higher Education’s university ranking are considered the most influential university rakings in the world because of their unparalleled expertise on the trends that reflect university performance. Their data and benchmarking tools can be useful for universities, as they can inform how they work to achieve their strategic goals, and in fact, many of the world’s top universities use them to do so.
