Our team was undefeated in the general rounds, and finished first in our division. We then moved on to the elimination rounds where we were knocked out in the quarter-finals by split-bench. Naturally, we judged the outcome differently and what followed seemed to confirm this.
Over 100 judges from around the world graded memorandums, and uOttawa won #1 Claimant Memorandum, #3 Respondent Memorandum and #1 Combined Memorandums.
We won #1 overall team, and three of our speakers, Mitchell, Quinn and Peter placed in the top 10 speakers. For the third consecutive time, uOttawa took the prize for the world’s top speaker (Peter).
My co-coaches (Tony VanDuzer and Jolene Hansell) and I are thrilled with the results, and immensely proud of our students. They worked very hard, pulled together as a team, and it payed off!
Our faculty's mooting reputation remains sterling! People at the competition remain in sheer amazement at how our faculty consistently dominate the international mooting world.
