The child at the heart of youth protection
Nov 22, 2022 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on the Rights of the Child (IRLRC), the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section and Jurivision are pleased to invite you this hybrid event as part of the Civil Law Section Lecture Series:
The child at the heart of youth protection
An important reflection on youth protection in Quebec has taken place with the work of the Laurent Commission. The Commission's recommendations led to amendments to the Youth Protection Act in 2022 to ensure that the child is truly at the heart of the decisions made. But is the child also at the heart of the proceedings? Are their voices being heard? How do we ensure that the child can participate in a way that respects his or her interests and rights? Youth protection actors will discuss good practices and challenges in child participation in youth protection proceedings. This event will also be the occasion to launch a visiotraining on this topic published by Jurivision.
