The Summer Moot Bootcamp at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, running from May 20–30, 2025, offers an unparalleled opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the Common Law legal system.

Program Overview

The Summer Moot Bootcamp will strengthen participant's oral advocacy and dispute skills and immerse themselves in Canada’s vibrant national capital region. Along with outings and experiences, students will engage in an intensive “moot bootcamp,” where they will collaborate with peers from across Canada to gain practical legal experience by preparing and arguing a case in a real courtroom setting. The program is led by Anthony Daimsis, a renowned coach whose moot teams have achieved multiple national and international championships, solidifying the uOttawa Faculty of Law’s reputation for excellence in mooting.

Program Highlights

This two-week Moot Court Program offers 35 hours of Intensive Moot Court Training from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm on weekdays, focusing on applied legal skills in oral advocacy and case development. Students will participate in hands-on training at the University of Ottawa, developing and presenting cases in a real courtroom setting and gaining experience in moot court proceedings that simulate real-world legal challenges. The program includes group outings to locations including the Supreme Court of Canada, Parliament, and Gatineau Park, connecting students with Canada’s legal and cultural landmarks.
