For the first time in the history of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA), a woman president, Charlene D. Theodore, passed the baton to another woman. The responsibility has been given to Karen Perron, LLB ’03, this September.
Karen Perron is a partner at BLG and specializes in banking litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, and directors and officer’s liability. Her legal background also includes appearances before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal, as well as appearances before the Commercial List of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. She is currently the First Vice President of the Ontario Bar Association.
She became First Vice President following an election by the members of the Provincial Council. At the end of a term, the Vice-President becomes President.
The Ontario Bar Association's mission is "to protect the professional and commercial interests of the legal profession and to promote the rule of law".
We would like to congratulate Karen Perron on her new role!
