Biography

Laura Julien holds a Civil Law Bachelor Degree from the University of Ottawa (2022) and completed her Bar Admission with an internship with a firm of lawyers, mediators and investigators specializing in psychological harassment. She begins her Ph.D. in law following an accelerated Master's degree, under the supervision of Audrey Ferron-Parayre and Mariève Lacroix.

The aim of her thesis is to study moral damages in Quebec civil liability in the event of an infringement of personality rights occurring in an obstetrical or gynecological context, from the angle of the effectiveness of the law.

Alongside her thesis, Laura coordinates the Justice VOG research project and carries out various research activities within this team. She also coordinates the Observatoire pluridisciplinaire sur le devenir du droit privé, and carries out various research assistantships.
