Justice Jennifer S. Daudlin was called to the Ontario bar in 2008. She was an associate at Kelly Greenway Bruce in Oshawa, prosecuting federal offences and conducting trials in the Superior and Ontario Courts of Justice. Between 2009 and 2013, she was staff duty counsel at Legal Aid Ontario in Toronto, helping people appearing in court without a lawyer. She was also principal at Daudlin Law Professional Corporation, a bilingual family law firm offering litigation, mediation, arbitration and parenting coordination services.
For the past four years, Justice Daudlin has been a mentor with l'Université d'Ottawa and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Law Practice Program, reviewing case files in corporate, real estate, civil litigation, criminal and family law, and providing guidance on rules of professional conduct and legal ethics. She is a past board member of Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario, and the past chair of the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association Family Law Section. Since 2019, she has volunteered with Honorbound Kennels to rehabilitate and rehome dogs and train police, military and anti-poaching working dogs, emotional support and service dogs and handlers.
Chief Justice Sharon Nicklas has assigned Justice Daudlin to a bilingual position in Toronto.
Justice Julien Lalande was called to the Ontario bar in 2009. For 11 years, he was an assistant Crown attorney in Ottawa, prosecuting cases of intimate partner violence, human trafficking and homicide. He later joined the East Region Guns and Gangs Unit, working with the Ottawa Police Service and other law enforcement agencies prosecuting gang and gun-related crime. From 2021 to 2023, Justice Lalande was the acting Crown attorney for Renfrew County. In 2023, he joined the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Team.
Justice Lalande has taught several courses at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, including Search and Seizure and Youth Criminal Justice. He has also authored and contributed to several criminal law publications for Westlaw. In addition, he has contributed regularly to training initiatives for police officers and mentorship programs for young lawyers. Over the years, Justice Lalande has volunteered with Big Brothers and Sisters, his local youth soccer association and the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization, helping recent newcomers to Canada join the workforce.
