The Ontario Bar Association Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of lawyers who have made significant contributions to the legal profession in Ontario and to the Ontario Bar Association.
The Ontario Bar Association’s Award for Distinguished Service is awarded to members of the Ontario Bar Association who have made exceptional career achievements in or contributions to the legal profession in Ontario, jurisprudence in Ontario or Canada, the law or development of the law in Ontario or a significant law-related benefit to Ontarians. Ramsay shares this honour with Ian M. Hull of Hull & Hull LLP, Reuben M. Rosenblatt of Minden Gross LLP and fellow uOttawa Common Law alum Michel W. Drapeau (LLB ‘00) of Michel Drapeau Law Office. Recipients of the Award for Distinguished Service are awarded a bronze statuette of a lawyer.
Ramsay was called to the Ontario Bar in 1995. She works with Blouin Dunn LLP and handles a range of insurance defence work, including property and casualty, professional negligence and commercial and automobile insurance. She has served as a member of the Ontario Bar Association Board of Directors, Chair of Professional Development, OBA Chair of Sections, OBA Chair of Insurance Law Section, OBA Chair of Civil Litigation Section, Vice-Chair, OBA Insurance Law Executive, Public Affairs Liaison on the Insurance Law Executive, member of OBA Council and Chair of Counsel Forum at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. In 2010 she received the OBA’s Linda Adlam Manning Award for Volunteerism. She has written many articles and speaks regularly at seminars. Ramsay has organized, chaired or presented at many continuing legal education programs.
