The Honourable Ahmed Hussen (JD 2011), Minister of Families, Children and Social Development has represented the riding of York South – Weston since being first elected in 2015. He has been recognized by the Toronto Star to have made substantial contributions to the community and has practiced laws in the areas of criminal defence, immigration and refugee law, and human rights before his political career.
Angelo Iacono (LLB 2000) has been representing the interests of the residents of the Alfred-Pellan Constituency as a Liberal since 2009. Mr. Iacono, has studied law both at the University of Ottawa and in France and has worked as a lawyer and civil servant before becoming an MP.
Paul Lefebvre (LLB 1999), Liberal MP – Sudbury and Parliamentary Secretary, Natural Resources has been re-elected. Mr. Lefebvre has taught international taxation at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, founded the Jazz Sudbury Festival and been involved with the Canadian Francophone Communities through sports and press organizations.
Liberal David McGuinty (LLB 1986) has been the MP of Ottawa South since 2004, winning the last six elections. Mr. McGinty is the brother of former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty and is the son of former Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Dalton McGuinty Sr.. An environmental lawyer by trade, Mr. McGuinty chairs the all-party parliamentary committee on national security and intelligence.

Catherine McKenna co-founded Canadian Lawyers Abroad – Avocats canadiens à l’étranger (now Level Justice), a University of Ottawa Faculty of Law-based charity.
William Amos was the Executive Director of the University of Ottawa Ecojustice Environmental Law Clinic and has taught at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
