The Ontario Bar Association Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of lawyers who have made significant contributions to the legal profession in Ontario and to the Ontario Bar Association.
The Linda Adlam Manning Award for Volunteerism is awarded to a member of the Ontario Bar Association who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to volunteerism, advances the interests of the OBA Membership and promotes the role of the legal profession in Ontario through either a significant event, achievement or contribution within 15 months preceding the nomination deadline. The winner is awarded a piece of Canadian art.
Knapton completed a BA(H) at Queens University prior to her legal education at the University of Ottawa. She spent several years working in both Columbia and Pakistan and has chaired and been involved with a number of community and advocacy groups. Knapton was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005. Much of her work is related to privacy, equality and human rights law and she has acted for clients at the Divisional Court, Superior Court and in front of several administrative tribunals. Knapton has been a member of Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board since 2017.
