Women and Gender Equality Canada named Professor Jane Bailey as a member of the Canadian delegation for the UN Commission on the Status of Women meetings in New York, which are running from March 6-17, 2023. The priority theme this year is innovation and technological change and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
Professor Bailey’s research focuses on the impact of evolving technology on equality, privacy, freedom of expression and multiculturalism. She is the co-leader of The eQuality Project, a $2.5 million 7-year SSHRC funded partnership initiative focused on young people’s experiences with digital technologies and the impact of corporate profiling practices on young people and their relationships. She leads the project stream focused on technology-facilitated violence.
