Vicky Ringuette, LLB ’04, was appointed Chair of AJEFO’s Board of Directors. Ringuette has served as Secretary of the Board since 2020. She is a bilingual lawyer and mediator in Hamilton. Her law practice focuses on niche areas of family law such as fertility and surrogacy and adoptions, while her dispute resolution practice focuses on family mediation (FDRP-Med), arbitration and international cross-border family mediation. Ringuette is active in her community, giving her time and expertise to several organizations such as the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO), the Law Society of Ontario and the Haldimand Law Association.
In June, Ringuette was also named director of the Centre for Legal Translation and Documentation (CLTD), a not-for-profit organization located on the University of Ottawa campus. The CLTD creates the legal documentation needed for practising law and delivering legal services in French, primarily in Ontario, but also in the other common law provinces and territories. The CLTD was founded in 1981 by the University of Ottawa and the AJEFO.
Edith Pérusse McCallum, LLB ’04, was appointed Executive Director of AJEFO. Pérusse McCallum has been a member of the AJEFO for several years. Originally from Saint-Basile, a Francophone community in northwestern New Brunswick, she holds a Bachelor of Philosophy from Laval University (2001), a Bachelor of Laws, Common Law (LL.B.) from the University of Ottawa (2004), a graduate certificate in Project Management from the Université du Québec en Outaouais (2010) and a Master of Public Ethics from Saint Paul University (2015).
Pérusse McCallum has a background in management, strategic planning, donor relations and funding applications. Throughout her career she has worked in various executive and management roles in her community, notably for the Canadian Bar Association and the Michaëlle Jean Foundation.
