The Honourable Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced the appointment of Michelle Flaherty, LLB ’98, Honour Society Member since 2008, to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in L’Orignal.

The Ontario government announced the appointment of Common Law Alum Peter Scrutton, LLB ’05, to the Ontario Court of Justice effective July 11, 2024. Chief Justice Sharon Nicklas has assigned Justice Scrutton to Toronto.

As Fauteux Hall fills with students this fall, the new Vice-Dean of the English Common Law Program will be among them.

We’re pleased to announce that Joao Velloso has been named Vice-Dean, graduate studies, of the Faculty of Law. He began his three-year term July 1. Velloso, an Associate Professor in the Common Law Section, succeeds Mona Paré, who served with distinction in this role from 2021.
