On June 1, 2021, Professors Lynda Collins and Brandon Stewart will host an online conference on the theme of “Teaching Wellbeing in Law”, which will build on Professor Collins’ course “Happiness and the Law”, and cover topics like mindfulness, as well as innovative pedagogies and approaches to teaching. The conference will take place from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. EDT.
The conference will feature a variety of guest speakers, including the following:
- Professor Marilyn Poitras, who created Canada's first course in Happiness and the Law and now directs the Indigenous Law Centre at the University of Saskatchewan;
- Professor Rhonda Magee of the University of San Francisco, author of The Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities Through Mindfulness;
- Professor Jordana Confino who teaches Positive Lawyering at Fordham University; and
- Professor Thomas Telfer, who teaches Mindfulness and the Law at Western University.
