Potential Start Date: January 1, 2024
This Ph.D. position offers an opportunity to explore new frontiers in cell biology, focusing on discovering new types of organelle interactions and their implications in disease. As a doctoral candidate, you will be pioneering research that seeks to map uncharted territories of cellular organelle communication, exploring how these interactions contribute to cellular homeostasis and pathology.
You will employ a range of cutting-edge techniques, including advanced microscopy, molecular biology, multi-omics and bioinformatics tools, to identify and characterize novel contact sites between organelles. Your research will be aimed at deciphering the molecular mechanisms that regulate these contacts and determining their roles in the context of various diseases.
Collaborating closely with a team of interdisciplinary researchers, you will work at the interface of cell biology, biochemistry, and pathophysiology. The ultimate goal of your Ph.D. project will be to contribute to a deeper understanding of cellular organization, to uncover potential therapeutic targets for disease intervention, and to make you become a PRO in everything you think, do, and dream of.
This position represents not only a research opportunity but also a platform for professional development through authoring publications, delivering presentations, and engaging in teaching activities. You will be integrated into a world-class laboratory, supported by a team of leading researchers, and granted access to cutting-edge facilities within a graduate program dedicated to developing the finest minds at our university.
