The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine manages deferred midterm and final exams of students for the following undergraduate courses: ANP, CMM, PHA and PHS.

What to do if you miss an exam

If you have to miss an exam due to illness or due to exceptional personal circumstances, it must be reported by submitting the online Declaration of Absence from an Examination form within the three (3) working days following the examination.  You should notify the course coordinator before the exam takes place.  Only then will you be eligible to write a deferred exam. If you do not write the regular exam or deferred exams, you will obtain a zero for that section of the course, as the weight of exams cannot be shifted. You should familiarize yourself with the University’s academic regulations.

Important information for deferred exams

  • Important information for deferred exams
  • Bring your student card to all your exams.
  • It is important to know the section of the course you are taking.
  • During an exam, all communication or recording devices that have not been pre-authorized, including cell phones, are prohibited. These devices must be turned off and left in the front or back of the exam room, along with all other personal belongings (backpacks, books, etc.). Students who contravene this rule will be charged with academic fraud.
  • Students arriving 30 minutes after the start of the exam will not be allowed to take the exam. If you find yourself in this situation, please report as soon as possible to your Faculty's Undergraduate Office.
  • The schedule of retakes and deferred exams is posted on your Faculty's website. It is important to double-check the exam dates, as misreading the exam schedule is not a valid excuse for retaking an exam.
  • At the start of the exam, one of the supervisors will check your student card and ask you to sign the attendance sheet.
  • At the end of the exam, one of the supervisors will collect your exam or exam booklets and note the number of booklets handed in on the attendance sheet. It is in your best interest to ensure that the correct number of examination books is entered on the attendance sheet.
