Biography
Dr. Claudia Malic is a pediatric plastic surgeon with a special interest in cleft lip and palate, acute burn care, and reconstruction of soft tissue defects with tissue expanders.
Dr. Malic received her medical degree in 1998 in Romania. She went on to complete her basic surgical training and residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery in the United Kingdom where she passed the plastic surgery board exam in 2012. Dr. Malic completed her doctorate “Personalized patient education in a burn centre” at the University of Leeds in 2011.
Her fellowship training included reconstruction and trauma surgery fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham UK (2012), pediatric plastic surgery at the University of British Columbia (2012-2013) and total burn care at the University of Toronto (2013-2014).
Dr. Malic has called the University of Ottawa her professional home since 2014 when she began in the Faculty of Medicine. She is currently an Associate Professor and the CHEO PNSQIP Surgeon Champion.
